Join us on Wednesday 18th September at Stratford Picturehouse for a memorable evening of masterful cinema and inspiring film discussion over a glass of wine.

The evening will start at 7pm with a workshop on Almodovar’s masterpiece “La mala educación”. The film focuses on two reunited childhood friends and lovers caught up in a stylised murder mystery. Along with meta-fiction, sexual abuse by Catholic priests, trans-sexuality and drug use are also important themes and devices in the plot

Halfway between a film discussion and a Spanish lesson, the workshop has been devised by one of the most experienced Spanish House London teachers, Agusti Guerrero, CLTA-qualified Spanish teacher and MA in Cinematography from the University of Barcelona.

In a relaxed conversation over a glass of wine you’ll feel at ease to exchange ideas. We’ll talk about Almodovar’s recurring themes, cultural references, and visual composition, as well as study some scenes and dialogues of the film (without spoilers!).

After the workshop, you will feel ready to enjoy the film, which will be screened at 8.15pm in Spanish (original version) with English subtitles.

The price includes:

– Workshop / discussion in Spanish (all materials included)

– Glass of Spanish wine (or beer)

– Film ticket
