Join us for a guided visit to The Wallace Collection, where a treasure trove of Spanish masterpieces by Velázquez, Murillo, and Alonso Cano awaits.

Gain insights into the social, cultural, and artistic context that shaped Spanish Golden Age art. By actively engaging with the art through stimulating discussion, we will learn about the techniques and styles that set these masterpieces apart.

The Wallace Collection itself is a magnificent setting. Prepare to be awestruck by the opulent architecture and the collection's diverse artistic treasures.

No prior art history knowledge is necessary, just a passion for discovery!

You will become familiar with vocabulary to articulate what you see. Not only will you learn about artists and history, but you will also deepen your ability to perceive, and you will gain confidence describing and talking about art in Spanish.

This session is ideal for students with at least an A2 level of Spanish (equivalent to Spanish House London Continuacion courses and above). It will be led by a native Spanish art historian and Spanish language teacher. Absolutely no knowledge of art is required.

We will meet on Saturday 25th January 2025 at 11am at the main foyer of The Wallace Collection (Hertford House, Manchester Square, London W1U 3BN). Look for the Spanish House London logo. If you have any troubles finding us, please contact us on 07775 583 740. The tour will last approximately 2 hours.
