Picasso, Dalí, Miró: Shaping Modern Art - Sunday 29th June 2025 at 11am
Embark on a captivating exploration of modern art at Tate Modern, focusing on the transformative decade of the 1920s and 1930s through the lens of three iconic Spanish artists: Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, and Joan Miró. This period witnessed a dynamic evolution in their styles, as they navigated the currents of post-war Europe and contributed significantly to the artistic avant-garde.
While Surrealism undeniably played a crucial role in shaping the artistic output of Dalí and Miró during this time, our visit will also consider the broader context of their creative development alongside Picasso's continuous innovation.
This is a welcoming, fun, and friendly discussion-based tour in which you will put your Spanish into gear. You will not only learn about art, but you will also be encouraged to be critical and express your own opinions. Absolutely no knowledge of art is required, just an inquisitive mind and an interest to learn and exchange views.
The ideal level of Spanish to attend this visit is A2 or above (equivalent to our Continuacion courses).
You will be provided with a vocabulary list in advance, so that you can familiarise yourself with the words we will use in the tour. Please let us know your level of Spanish when booking your place. Spaces are limited, please book in advance.
